TBT - Lemonade Stands

Updated: May 11, 2020

Together, in 5th/6th grade, we would make lemonade to sell on a busy corner(the perfect location) by our school. At the end of our first day we made a decent profit because a lot of cars passed this intersection. In fact, we made a little over 200 dollars. A lot of people let us keep the change and were very generous with tips. Either the lemonade was really good or we were too cute to resist. We guess sitting for hours in the sweltering heat payed off.

After a few times of doing lemonade, we decided that we would change it up a bit and do homemade ice cream instead. It was really good ice cream and it was extremely fun to make. We made chocolate, vanilla, and even Oreo. To our surprise, it didn’t work as well as we expected. Tons of our potential customers couldn’t eat dairy or were on a health kick(who heard of such a thing). People even came up and asked if we had lemonade ignoring the signs. We ended up losing money because we were in debt to our parents for paying for the supplies, and already spent profit from our lemonade stands. I guess everyone else does lemonade, but we were just trying to be creative. Note to self - Selling lemonade works way better than selling ice cream.
