It’s vacation, and I’m sure you’ve caught on the trend… we slept in once again. We headed to the only park we didn’t do yet, the water park, and with us being smart, we went on this on the day it was supposed to thunderstorm. This park was called Volcano Bay When we found the right shuttle because this is the only park not within walking distance, the driver warned us that they would shut everything down, if there was any thunder or lightning. The boys stayed at the hotel because my brother still had his cast boot on from breaking his foot.
We decided to go anyway, the clouds were looking pretty promising at this point as well. So we continued to venture to the park, and everything was looking fine, and no one was there. Every line had no wait, and there were tons of options. Some of the slides even went through the volcano. Our first slide Elaina conquered her fear of heights by climbing of the volcano. The slide had an immediate drop a the beginning, and we were put in capsule. What a cool one to start out with. The workers gave us a thumbs up, and then we just dropped. It was soooo fast, but we both kept our eyes closed the whole time.
Following another 7 rides including some tube ride, we were feeling exhausted, so we went to the lazy river. We couldn’t get out because it was too cold outside of it. Every time we swooped around the river, it would take us through the core of the volcano. This was also the perfect way to scope out what we wanted to ride next. I felt bad because I rammed into numerous kids while in the lazy river, but Elaina assured me that it was the point of this attraction.
This trip as a whole Elaina and I probably hit about 20 people on both and water. Elaina rammed so hard into one kid, he started crying. She was determined the this was only a gentle nudge and this kid was over exaggerated, but apologized anyways. After this, it has been about three hours, and we felt our tummies growling for food. They had a lovely selection of hawaiian food to choose. We choose to get some BBQ(burger and ribs) with their mango barbecue sauce. Yum. We found a spot under a little hut.
About ten minutes into our meal, it started to downpour(pictured below)… the rain was horizontal. I guess we were lucky and we had good timing. We decided to stay in the hut until it calmed down, but we got a good 3 hours in before the rain hit, which was more than expected. Since we finished our meals, we decided to make a run for it. I had brought a poncho. I know, I know, who brings a poncho to a water park… I do. Well that meant I ended up carrying all three of our bags. What a workout. JK.
Anyways, we decided to hotel hop because you can do that at Universal, and one hotel was conveniently located close to this park. At this hotel they had a thing called galaxy bowl which sounded fun, but we came to find out that the wait was 6 hours long... not joking. Definitely not going to wait that long. We were feeling a little icky. It took us three different buses to get the hotel, but every time we thought we were on the right one.
Some warm showers really helped, not to mention our nap that we took before heading back to the other parks. We rode some of our favorite rides again since the weather cleared up. Then we went to an dope restaurant that had gigantic milkshakes(some even topped we cake)! We went for the marshmallow ones. Our waiter was so funny and interactive. We then headed back, and Elaina decided to jump a fence, but she made friends with the security guard. I guess she didn’t see the door ! foot away from the gate. Ooo well.
